Installation
Deskless is available as a native app for Apple and Android phones and tablets.

Keep enough free storage for the app, your local projects, Git history, and any previews you generate.
Deskless 3.0 is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad as of October 17, 2026. Android 3.0 is in review on Google Play, which offers 2.1 until it is approved. These docs describe 3.0; update your installed app to use the new features. The release retains iOS/iPadOS 26 and Android 12 support.
Layouts adapt to window size, including foldable and multi-window use. Physical iPhone Duo and iPhone Mirroring qualification, and uninterrupted typing through every Duo fold transition, are not claimed complete.

You can also search for Deskless in the store on your device. Confirm that the publisher is Lowcountry Code Labs LLC before installing.
First launch
The welcome flow introduces the editor, Git, and the bring-your-own-key AI model. After onboarding you can:
- Create a local project or open an existing folder.
- Clone a repository over HTTPS or SSH.
- Choose a theme and editor preferences.
- Add an AI provider key now, or skip it and configure AI later.
- Review the Free and Pro options shown by your local app store.
Tip: You do not need an AI provider key to use the editor. Add one only when you want cloud AI actions or Agent Mode.
